WINTER UPDATE - FEBRUARY 8th 2010

Snow is hard and in great condition at the moment. Currently, the fells have a good cover of snow above 2200 feet, with patches and ribbons down to 1000 feet. Most gullies are good for climbing, and walking conditions are excellent with especially good snow cover above 2500 feet. Forecasts suggest it will remain cold all week with an easterly airflow and any precipitation limited to light snow in the east.

WINTER COURSES are now running and available throughout the winter both here and in Scotland, so why not take advantage of the best winter conditions for years...

WINTER HILLWALKING SKILLS  Winter Skills weekends every weekend in the Lakes and Scotland, longer courses available - weekends from £150

WINTER CLIMBING  Available on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis any time during the winter

NAVIGATION SKILLS  Brush up on your navigation skills this winter and springtime. Our weekend courses are suitable for newcomers to hillwalking and those with some experience who want to brush up on their skills. Based in the Lake District, our forthcoming dates are: January 16/17; February 20/21; March 20/21;

ROCK CLIMBING  Courses are available in the Lakes and Peak starting again on Saturday March 13th 2010

ROCK CLIMBING IN SPAIN  Dedicated rock climbing courses in the Costa Blanca - superb crags and normally excellent weather make this a great destination. Available as long weekends or full weeks starting on the following dates: Feb 13; March 20; May 15; Bolted routes and trad climbing along with top quality instruction.

MULTI ACTIVITY SPAIN  Via Ferrata, Rock Climbing and Scrambling plus plenty of Tapas and fun! The Costa Blanca has a few excellent Via Ferrata to complement the well-known climbing and scrambling areas. Lots of variety and a great holiday atmosphere! Departures Jan 23; March 13; May 15;
