Our British mountains may not be the highest in the world, but the quality of their landscapes is simply outstanding.
From the sublime beauty and complex colours and tones of the Lake District, to the stark wilderness of NW Scotland, our mountains have something for everyone, and our programme of walking holidays aims to share this with you.
You can join us for some magnificent hillwalking in the NW Highlands, surely Britain's finest landscape. Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Foinaven, Quinag and Ben Mor Coigach are just some of the splendid hills we ascend regularly with groups.
If walking the hills is not enough, you can join one of our canoeing trips into the wilderness of Assynt, and wild camp on lochshores beneath some of the country's most spectacular peaks. You can catch trout for your supper and experience the closest thing to a true wilderness adventure to be found in Britain.
The Lakeland hills are well documented and even more well walked, but why not take a fresh look at them through the eyes of one of the area's foremost authors and photographers, Bill Birkett. Bill is leading a number of weekend walking holidays with a difference. First, you'll discover new walks and gain a fascinating insight into the people and history of the area. Second, Bill will be working with group members to improve their photography, and the composer of the weekend's finest photo will receive a signed copy of one of Bill's latest books.
Also on offer is a weekend of 'off the beaten track' walks with former National Park Ranger, John White. You'll explore the two contrasting areas of Langdale and Martindale, using routes far away from the usual well-trodden paths. Whether you're an experienced Lake District walker or a newcomer, this will be a memorable weekend.
Finally, you can hire a walking guide from us. All walking guides have a minimum of the MLTB award, but equally importantly, they know the mountains really well and have a wealth of knowledge about the wildlife and history of our mountains and moorlands.
