SCRAMBLING, CLIMBING, VIA FERRATA, CANYONING AND MORE - COSTA BLANCA

COSTA BLANCA - MULTI ACTIVE HOLIDAY

The Costa Blanca  may mean sun, sand and all things Benidorm to many people, but less well known are the fantastic limestone Sierras which form such a wonderful backdrop to the coast. Here, you can climb and scramble, find a Via Ferrata or a canyon, laze in the sun, swim, fish and relax in some marvellous scenery. The Sella region, easily accessible but seemingly a million miles from the busy coastline, is the base for our multi-activity weeks during the autumn and spring.

LOCATION
We'll be based in the Sella region, in the mountains north of Benidorm and overlooked by the imposing Puig Campana. The Sella area is well-known as a leading rock climbing centre, but nearby are some excellent Via Ferrata and scrambles including the Bernia Ridge. The Costa Blanca region also has one of the best winter climates in Europe, and though short spells of poor weather remain a possibility, more often that not the area is soaking up the Mediterranean sunshine and enjoying temperatures akin to those of a British summer. Sella is just a 40 minute drive from Alicante airport,to where flights are available from most regional airports.

ACTIVITIES
Rock climbing- in the Sella area - with climbs of all standards and some excellent locations for learning to climb and expanding your current skill level. Many routes are bolt protected, and the rock is excellent quality limestone.

Scrambling - lots of possibilities exist, including the classic Bernia Ridge - a magnificent, full day excursion (6-8 hours) - a bit like Skye, but with good weather and no midges!

Via Ferrata - Three Via Ferrata are possible - the Ponoch, El Cid and Villena. All are very worthwhile and we anticipate doing all three during our stay.

Canyoning - Limestone gorges make the best canyoning terrain and here's no exception Sinuous gorges with pools and waterfalls
are accessed by a mix of abseiling and scrambling.

You can also try mountain biking and also chill out at the coast sea kayaking and fishing
