LAKE DISTRICT WALKING HOLIDAYS

LAKE DISTRICT WALKING HOLIDAYS – GUIDED WALKS OFF THE BEATEN TRACK

Highpoint will take you for a couple of days walking ‘off the beaten track’ in the valleys of Langdale, Little Langdale and Martindale. It’s amazing how many people stick to the main, well trodden mountain footpaths, when there re huge area of land which can be explored away from the crowds. Though we’ll sometimes use established paths on these walks, most of the time these guided walks take old shepherd’s tracks, animal tracks, or on open ground with no path at all. The reward – walking away from the crowds with magnificent and unusual views, plus a fascinating insight into the area’s wildlife, culture and history.

Langdale is especially well-known as one of the finest mountain valleys in Britain, whilst lesser-known Martindale has the most varied wildlife and a fascinating history.

The exact walks will depend on the weather conditions on the day, but they will be of a moderate grade with some rough ground.
