Safety in the mountains is to be taken very seriously, and as good as your phone app or GPS unit is, there is always a risk of them letting you down, cold temps are batteries worst enemy, and one day they will let you down, usually at the worst possible moment, and if you do not have a map and compass, and have the skills of how to use them, you could be in serious trouble!! imagine being on a ridge line when the clouds roll in and your visibility is down to almost zero, you are at least 3 hours away from your start point and it will be dark in 2 hours, scary thought!!

We offer fascinating 1 and 2 day navigation courses based in the Lake District, and are suitable for beginners and those who have a little experience.
We also offer refresher courses which are perfect for people with higher level skills, who want to brush up on any part of their navigation techniques.
