ROCK CLIMBING COURSE – PEAK DISTRICT
For a rock climbing course, THE PEAK DISTRICT takes some beating, with an exceptional variety of world-class crags, and hundreds of classic climbs. Though many routes are single pitch, gritstone crags such as The Roaches, and many of the bigger limestone crags also offer some multi pitch climbing. Centrally located, it is easy to get to from most parts of the country. The quality of the Peak District gritstone is well known (you’ll love the friction!) and the variety of climbs and situations in such a compact area is quite surprising.
Our courses are based around the Western Gritstone edges – using crags such as the Roaches and Windgather, though longer courses will also use other parts of the Peak District. The locations we use complement each other, providing a wide range of climbing styles and lots of different belaying and anchoring scenarios.
SINGLE PITCH CLIMBING TUITION:
Great if you already have a bit of experience, or if you have climbed indoors? this full day will teach all the basics of climbing outdoors.

LEARN TO LEAD TUITION:
Great if you want to progress to leading multi pitch climbs and placing your own protection and climbing as a pair on outdoor rock.

WHAT IS PROVIDED AND WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ALONG?
All safety and technical equipment will be supplied except rock shoes, these shoes are a very personal fit and cannot be provided (Trainers will be fine for the half day Intro to rock), but please feel free to bring along any of your own climbing equipment for all other courses, you will also need to bring clothing suitable for the time of year, a packed lunch (depending on how long your course lasts) and a drink.
