VIA FERRATA DOLOMITES & LAKE GARDA

VIA FERRATA, (or Klettersteig as they are known in the German speaking parts of the Alps) provide a fantastic way for walkers, scramblers and climbers with a head for heights

To enjoy the thrills and drama of climbing long mountain routes with the minimum of equipment and technicality.

Participants clip a shock-absorbing lanyard into the Via Ferrata cable for security, leaving you free to enjoy the scrambling and climbing without the encumberment of lots of equipment. People of different ability levels can enjoy the same routes by using the cables more (or less) to increase or decrease the technical difficulty of the climbing.

If you’re struggling, a quick pull on the cable or on some of the iron rungs (Stemples) will make the going easier.

The DOLOMITES is the world centre of Via Ferrata and we run holidays to the central Sella area, which has good access to many superb routes. The season here is July to September.

For early season or late season, when the Dolomite routes are likely to be affected by snow and bad weather, we also run holidays to the LAKE GARDA region, which has some great route and is very accessible.

Check out some photos from our past holidays to these wonderful areas here:
